How two coffee nerds turned a love of Indian filter coffee and chai into Austin's most fun specialty coffee brand.

It started with Mom's filter coffee

Hemesh and Manish grew up on filter coffee and chai — the kind Mom made before we even asked. We always knew Indian coffee was special, but the rest of the world hadn't caught on yet.

India is the world's biggest tea nation, but coffee has always been woven into the culture too. Right now, a third-wave specialty movement is exploding there. Incredible single-origin coffees are growing in places like Chikkamagaluru, Araku Valley, and even Assam — and hardly anyone outside India is talking about them yet.

So we asked ourselves: ¿Por Qué No?

The unofficial brown bean boys of Austin

Half of what we do is Indian specialty coffee — beans that deserve a global stage. The other half is fun, funky, experimental brews where we blend Indian single origins with Central American lots to bring cultures and people together through the beans themselves.

It's an honest fusion that tastes even better than the story behind it.

We roast our beans in Austin and love featuring incredible coffees from friends and fellow roasters in the community. They say an eye for an eye makes the world blind, but a bean for a bean makes the world beautiful.
